Qualifications

Location: Vancouver, BC (Onsite to start)

Salary: $55,000 - $60,000

The BC Principals’ & Vice-Principals’ Association (BCPVPA) represents and supports more than 2,700 school leaders across British Columbia’s K–12 public education system. With a strong commitment to leadership development, advocacy, and community, BCPVPA plays a critical role in shaping and supporting public education in the province.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and highly professional Administrative Assistant to provide day-to-day administrative support to senior staff and play an essential role in facilitating the smooth operation of internal and external communications, meetings, and documentation.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, brings a strong administrative foundation, and ideally has experience within the education or broader public sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to senior leadership.
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings, including preparing agendas, presentations, and meeting materials.
  • Attend committee and staff meetings to take detailed and accurate minutes; track action items and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Manage scheduling logistics and communication for internal teams and external partners.
  • Monitor and respond to email and phone inquiries from members and stakeholders, ensuring timely and professional responses.
  • Maintain member data, update contact databases, and support internal documentation systems and archiving.
  • Assist in preparing briefing materials, reports, and internal correspondence.
  • Manage Zoom meetings, including setup, hosting, and breakout room facilitation.
  • Ensure all communications and records reflect the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an administrative support role.
  • Previous experience in the education sector , non-profit , or public service is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaborative tools (e.g., Teams, Zoom, SharePoint).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Professionalism, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage confidential information.
  • Familiarity with BC’s K–12 education system is considered a strong asset.

Work Model & Compensation

  • Onsite role to start; potential for hybrid flexibility in the future.
  • Start time: 7:30–8:00 AM to align with internal team operations.
  • Salary: $60,000 annually.
  • Vacation: 3 weeks.
