The Role
We are looking for an Administrative Assistant to support our Security Branch. The Administrative Assistant would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.
The Administrative Assistant provides general administrative support to the security screening team. Some of the duties of the position may include: providing guidance and support to individuals in regards to the Government of Canada Security Screening process, coordinating with clients, taking and submitting fingerprints to the RCMP, preparing correspondence, reports and presentations; establishing and maintaining filing and signing systems and responding to general enquiries. Other duties may include providing back-up to other administrative positions.
The Administrative Assistant is an integral part of the machinery that enables the NRC to do what we do!

Education
Successful completion of secondary school according to provincial standards.

Experience
- Experience and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
- Experience managing shared calendars, scheduling meetings, and using email tools.
- Experience with expense tracking and reimbursement processes.
- Experience in drafting and proofreading correspondence to clients.
- Experience making travel arrangements and processing travel claims.
Condition of Employment
Secret Clearance
A thorough security clearance process will be applied.
For a Secret Clearance, verification of background information over a period of 10 years is required. Individuals must have lived in Canada for a sufficient period of time to enable the security screening process.

Compensation
From $49,665 to $65,854 per annum.
In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
