We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our McAteer team in Markham.

The right individual has the ability to demonstrate a standard of excellence, enjoys challenges, and is results-driven. The Administrative Assistant is a team player who works independently and balances a workload to meet critical deadlines and target dates for assignments. We are looking for a committed, accountable, reliable, professional and experienced individual.

The Administrative Assistant will:

  • Prepare board meeting materials and agendas including liaison with attendees
  • Plan and coordinate meetings, calendar and appointment management
  • Edit and finalize presentations, reports and documents, proofread to ensure accuracy and clarity of content
  • Prepare correspondence by email and regular mail
  • Handle telephone enquiries in a helpful and professional manner
  • Maintain member communications, policies, texts and other governance documents
  • Manage legal communications and member appeals
  • Perform other duties as assigned

To be successful as an Administrative Assistant with The McAteer Group of Companies, you will need:

  • Minimum 3 years working experience in an office
  • Excellent computer skills, including advanced MS Office application skills (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • To be a cooperative team player with an ability to prioritize workload and multi-task
  • Excellent customer service skills, oral and written communication skills and grammar
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to provide high level of accuracy
  • To handle information with confidentiality and high degree of integrity
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and deadlines

All-star candidates will have:

  • Experience in the pension and/or group benefits industry
  • Familiarity with Diligent board portals
