The administrative support for the School of Graduate Studies ( SGS ) and ORIS manages scheduling and relationships on behalf of the Dean and Associate Dean of the SGS , as well as managing governance requirements, documents, and timelines relating to the SGS .
This position will ensure that deadlines are met and processes are followed, and provide general office support, including records management and activities such as scheduling and supporting events, for both SGS and ORIS. Some support and coordination of grants and other research activities is also part of the role. The individual in this role is expected to work with minimal supervision and be proactive in problem solving and planning while carrying out tasks related to these responsibilities.
Because there are many activities under this role, prioritization of activities and tasks is a key skill. The ability to effectively and efficiently troubleshoot and problem-solve is essential. The successful candidate will bring a high level of attention to detail to their work. An understanding of governance activities within a postsecondary setting is important as this is a major part of the role. The role supports general activities for two offices, so tracking, managing, and supporting a variety of office requirements will be required.
Position Qualifications
A two year college diploma is required with a Bachelor’s degree preferred. The position requires a minimum of two years of experience in an administrative support position in a postsecondary setting or similar. Experience supporting a member of senior leadership in a postsecondary setting is preferred.
Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE): $4,691.00 - $5,246.00 monthly
Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE): $4,691.00 - $5,799.00 monthly (AUPE - Grade 10)
