Midland Transport is currently seeking an Administrative Assistant based at our Head Office in Dieppe, NB. Reporting to the Director of Driver Services and O/O Relations, the Admin Assistant is responsible for administrative duties for the department and all owner-operators. The role also involves completing operational requirements by scheduling and assigning administrative projects and expediting work results.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative role (asset)
  • Transportation industry experience (asset)
  • High School diploma, Trade Certification, or College Diploma
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and a professional demeanor
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office
  • Bilingual skills are considered an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare onboarding documents (painting trucks, booking decal applications and removals, truck licensing, fuel card setup)
  • Maintain owner-operator contracts, set up new owner-operators, and manage master files
  • Coordinate driver meetings and events
  • Conduct administrative functions for the department (payroll, supply purchasing, maintaining department files)
  • Create purchase orders for maintenance and driver services
  • Perform other duties as required
