Job summary

Autism Services in Canada is seeking an Administrative Assistant to handle daily office tasks, manage correspondence, data entry, receipting, and support municipal operations. You will serve the public, process mail, and assist with accounts payable/receivable.

The ideal candidate is proficient in MS Office, can handle confidential information, works well in a team or independently, communicates clearly, and stays organized with multiple priorities.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications is required.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Ability to work with the public and in a team or alone.
  • Strong communication in writing and speaking.
  • High attention to detail and ability to multi-task and prioritize.

Responsibilities

  • Daily activities including telephone reception, customer service, correspondence, filing, data entry and receipting
  • Sorting incoming and outgoing mail
  • Accounts payable, receivable, invoicing, bank reconciliations and deposits
  • Assisting with payroll and government remittance
  • Maintaining bylaw and agreement registries
  • Assisting with annual assessment roll, and tax roll changes
  • Assisting in preparation of council meeting packages and meetings
  • Ensure office is organized, recording and requisitioning inventory of supplies, anticipating future needs, and providing support where required
  • Various other duties as directed by the Administrator

Job description

Applications must be receivedat the municipal office by 4:00 pm on August 28, 2026.

Duties
  • Daily activities including telephone reception, customer service, correspondence, filing, data entry and receipting
  • Sorting incoming and outgoing mail
  • Accounts payable, receivable, invoicing, bank reconciliations and deposits
  • Assisting with payroll and government remittance
  • Maintaining bylaw and agreement registries
  • Assisting with annual assessment roll, and tax roll changes
  • Assisting in the preparation of council meeting packages and meetings
  • Ensure office is organized, recording and requisitioning inventory of supplies, anticipating future needs, and providing support where required
  • Various other duties as directed by the Administrator
Experience & Qualifications
  • Proficient in MS Office applications

  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Strong willingness to learn
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Flexibility with respect to work schedule (Required to work during Administrators absence)
  • Basic accounting skills are considered an asset
  • Experience in municipal operations, budgeting, financial operations, taxation and general office management would be considered an asset
  • Strong communication, management, organizational, and inter-personal skills;
  • Agricultural and residential development experience
  • Will be required to take the Local Government Authority classes
