Job Description

As a Technical System Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, and end-user systems. You will monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, ensure security measures are up to date, and provide support to ensure business continuity.

What will your day-to-day look like?

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure components.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control in Active Directory and other systems.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Perform regular system backups and restore procedures as necessary.
  • Implement and maintain security policies and practices, including firewalls, antivirus, and patch management.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues for servers, workstations, and networks.
  • Maintain and update documentation for system configurations and processes.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Manage virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in system administration and IT infrastructure.

What do you need to be successful?

  • 10 years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency with operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux, or UNIX.
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other network services.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with networking (LAN, WAN, VPN) and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of security protocols and best practices, including firewall and antivirus management.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure management (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) are a plus.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Bash, etc.).

Although this position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers, or international colleagues.
