Job summary

Northland Restaurant Group is seeking a Regional Manager to lead and develop leadership teams across a network of corporate and franchise restaurants. You will oversee operations, budgeting, and execution to meet company objectives while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

You will travel to multiple locations, coach General Managers and chefs, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of successful multi-unit restaurant operations in a full-service chain.
  • Minimum 2 years as a General Manager with proven financial management in a high-volume setting.
  • High-level cost analysis skills.
  • Excellent computer skills: Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint; POS systems.
  • Strong knowledge of sanitation, health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and mentor leadership teams; drive guest service, operations, and profitability.
  • Set performance standards for food/beverage prep, service, and quality.
  • Stay current on laws and regulations; manage approved budgets.
  • Conduct site reviews and audits to ensure excellence across locations.
  • Handle guest complaints and feedback.
  • Oversee development of managers and teams across restaurants.
  • Champion recognition and motivation to attract/retain talent.
  • Contribute to long-term planning and brand positioning.
  • Coordinate and implement promotions to boost guest experience and sales.
  • Support Strategy Panel initiatives with restaurant operators.

As a regional manager, you will thrive on spending time at various restaurant locations within your designated region, sharing your knowledge with your teams, and developing General Managers, Chefs, and their teams.

You will report directly to the Director of Operations. Your purpose is to achieve company objectives by ensuring flawless execution of all restaurant operations at the Corporate and Franchise restaurants within your region. You will accomplish this through planning, budgeting, and developing the leadership teams within each restaurant.

Our menu, continuously developed by our Executive Chef, features globally inspired flavors and fresh, high quality ingredients. Our passion for the culinary arts and hospitality is evident in our menu, but also in our teams. Both our culinary and front of house staff members are made of people who work to make memorable experiences for our guests, from handcrafted dishes to flawless table service, focused on excellence in every detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • As Regional Manager, you will have an unparalleled passion for development of your teams, guest service, restaurant operations and management of profitability. Some of your responsibilities will also include:
  • Creating an enhanced restaurant culture that drives excellence in every aspect of hospitality success: making guests feel special; managing top line revenues; ensuring excellent service, high quality product, and strong morale; and maintaining superior profit management to achieve financial goals
  • Establish, direct and review performance standards in food and beverage preparation and production to ensure effective, controlled and coordinated results are achieved (i.e. quality, recipe adherence, service, etc.)
  • Remain current on federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations with respect to our industry. Produce approved budget and operate within established guidelines
  • Conduct frequent site reviews and audits of restaurants to ensure excellence in all areas.
  • Handle or assist with any guest related complaints and/or comments.
  • Oversee the development of management and team members to ensure proper training and guidance
  • Champion recognition and motivation efforts throughout the market to meet our goal of being the employer of choice in the restaurant industry.
  • Contribute to long term planning and brand positioning.
  • Coordinate and implement food and beverage promotions to maximize guest experience and sales growth
  • Act as senior member of the Strategy Panel for the company and assist in implementing tactics with the restaurant operators
Key Requirements
  • You are an industry super-star. You have a minimum of 3 years of successful multi-unit restaurant operations, of a full-service restaurant chain
  • Minimum 2 years as a successful restaurant General Manager with proven financial management, in a high-volume, full-service restaurant
  • High level cost analysis skills
  • Excellent knowledge and high-level skill with all basic computer systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint as well as Posi Touch Point of sale systems
  • Excellent understanding of sanitation, health, and safety systems
  • Can maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals
  • Impeccable communication, people, and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout your region, as well as having a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required
  • A college or university degree in hospitality, restaurants and culinary arts, or a business education background considered an asset.
