Job summary

Peel Addiction Assessment and Referral Centre (PAARC) seeks an Addictions Counsellor/Case Manager to support the Adult Community Treatment (ACT) program. You will conduct intake, assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing counselling for clients awaiting other services.

You will work in Mississauga in a full-time permanent role, with mileage reimbursement, health/dental, LTD, EAP, and one remote work day per week. Professional development and RRSP matching are included for permanent staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience; shelter and non-shelter settings preferred.
• Internal PAARC candidates must have worked for over one year in Counselling/Case Management.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required; GAIN Q3 MI ONT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake, screening, assessment, and treatment planning to ensure eligibility and ongoing needs.
• Provide ongoing supportive counselling and case management, including assessment, referral, aftercare, and discharge, with a defined caseload.
• Facilitate structured content and process groups to improve access and care responsiveness.
• Respond to crises with appropriate interventions and support clients in healthy boundaries.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, organizations, and providers; advocate for needs.
• Maintain client files and documentation in line with best practices and legal guidelines.
