Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Virtual Addictions Counselor to provide remote counseling services for individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. The ideal candidate will offer individual and group counseling sessions, support clients in developing recovery plans, and utilize evidence-based treatment modalities to foster long-term recovery. This position is ideal for a self-motivated professional comfortable working in a virtual setting.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Provide individual and group counseling via telehealth platforms
  2. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans
  3. Facilitate psychoeducational and relapse prevention groups
  4. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, case managers, and medical professionals
  5. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and ethical guidelines
  6. Provide crisis intervention support as needed
  7. Stay informed on current research, best practices, and advancements in addiction treatment
  8. Offer ongoing support, accountability, and resources to clients in recovery
  9. Process and complete necessary documentation in a timely manner
  10. Monitor program calendars and coordinate group sessions or special events
  11. Create and manage appointments & client rosters within telehealth platform
  12. Maintain up-to-date client administration records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance
  13. Support leadership with administrative tasks such as managing program reports and documentation
  14. Assist with technology support for virtual platforms used in client sessions and team meetings
  15. Ensure adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and accreditation standards
  16. Support implementation of quality assurance and improvement initiatives
  17. Act as a point of contact for clients with administrative concerns, resolving issues promptly and professionally
  18. Provide reminders for appointments, program updates, and other client-facing communications
Qualifications
Education & Preferred Experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional and empathetic demeanor
  • Current licensure with CACCF
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in EMR systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a remote environment
  • Commitment to confidentiality, ethical standards, and client-centered care

  • Organization and precision in all areas of the job
  • Able to multi-task and have an eye for detail
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in group settings

The ability to function independently and under pressure while managing multiple duties, including emergency situations, is essential.
