Direct Service - (OPSEU)

Full-time, Contract (End Date: December 13, 2025)

London, ON (London Zone)

Every person in our community has the right to safe, affordable, quality housing and to live with dignity and as much independence and choice as possible.

As a member of our team, you will support individuals experiencing addictions and/or mental health concerns who have struggled with housing stability. Your team will provide early support and intervention, helping to prevent escalation that could lead to eviction, with the goal of keeping clients housed.

Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed in the last six months. Candidates residing in London should apply for one promptly, as processing takes about 2 weeks, and employment offers depend on receipt of this check.

WHAT WE'RE OFFERING:
  • Starting rate: $27.14/hour (Level 1 – Direct Service), with a wage differential based on regulation ($30.01/hour for regulated Level 1)
  • Registered professionals (e.g., OCSWSSW, CNO, COTO, CRPO, CPSO, CPO) will receive the wage differential
  • External applicants start at Level 1, with progression up to Level 8 ($34.41 non-regulated, $37.26 regulated)
  • Work hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm
  • Benefits: 9% in lieu of benefits
  • Pension: Optional enrolment in HOOPP, immediately eligible
HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:
  • Support clients in achieving their goals and maintaining housing
  • Promote independent community living
  • Assist with daily living activities and health education
  • Provide crisis intervention and prevention
  • Advocate for clients to access community resources
  • Document client progress and communicate effectively with team members
  • Manage emergency situations
REQUIREMENTS:

Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed within last six months. Applicants in London should apply promptly due to processing times.

  • Degree or diploma in social science or related field (original credentials required)
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle access
  • Ability to attend work regularly
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge of Psychosocial Rehabilitation
  • Experience in addiction and mental health fields
  • Experience in residential settings
  • Knowledge of health and safety, crisis intervention, ASIST, First Aid & CPR
  • Bilingual in both official languages is preferred
