JOB SUMMARY

The Acute/ER Nurse Manager is responsible for managing the operation and function of Acute Care (AC), Emergency Department (ER), the Telemedicine Department (OTN), and the Pharmacy Department.

The Acute/ER Nurse Manager is a member of the Management Team and reports to the Chief Nursing Officer. They supervise nursing staff to provide holistic and integrated healthcare, offering guidance, leadership, and training. The Nurse Manager manages departmental budgets, staff absenteeism, resources, and supplies, ensuring effective use of nursing resources to meet patient care needs, uphold quality standards, and comply with legislation and Best Practice Guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing or equivalent.
  2. Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Active membership in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario is an asset.
  3. Willingness to obtain administrative, leadership, or management certification or courses is an asset.
  4. Management education and 5 years of management experience are assets.
  5. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Experience in policy development and implementation.
  7. Commitment to professional development.
  8. Basic computer skills.
