Job summary

Humber River Health in Toronto is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist for the acute care setting. The role covers Medicine and Surgery programs with mobility-focused assessments, treatments and discharge planning.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, supervise students and rehab assistants, and travel to cross-site locations when needed. This temporary full-time position runs until March 18, 2028 and offers weekday availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario required.
• CAOT membership preferred.
• Previous occupational therapy in an acute setting is an asset.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide Occupational Therapy services to Medicine and Surgery program patients in acute care.
• Perform assessments and treatment for referred patients.
• Record patient assessments, progress and discharge status.
• Coordinate discharge planning with the multidisciplinary team.
• Record workload measurement data and participate in team activities.
• Provide consultation to other disciplines in physical medicine.
• Supervise Rehabilitation Assistants and OT/OTA/PTA students.
