Who we need

We are looking for a strategic, detail-driven Actuary with a strong background in Health and Dental insurance to join our growing Product and Pricing team.

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Pricing, you will be accountable to help assess new business opportunities and monitor / review performance of existing blocks. As an integral part of our Actuarial team, you will use your analytical skills to assess models and provide recommendations to ensure our insurance products are profitable and sustainable. We have an ever-growing number of partners that we work closely with to deliver our products. You will also liaise with external and internal stakeholders to ensure that pricing strategies align with business objectives.

What You Will Do

  • Analyze data to develop or enhance GGY AXIS pricing models for a wide range of Life and Health insurance products;
  • Perform regular in-force pricing reviews to ensure ongoing product sustainability;
  • Monitor trends, identify issues, and recommend strategic adjustments to maintain profitability;
  • Provide support for financial underwriting of new and existing partnerships;
  • Collaborate closely with the Underwriting team to ensure pricing aligns with our risk appetite;
  • Act as a key partner to cross-functional teams, especially Finance and other business units, to provide insights and support on business initiatives.

What You Will Bring

  • The education and the professional designation. Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics). FSA and / or FCIA designation required.
  • The experience and the technical skills. 5+ years of actuarial experience with a solid understanding of Health & Dental insurance. Advanced knowledge of GGY AXIS for pricing and modeling. Exposure to LTD and IFRS 17 considered a strong asset. Skilled at working with large data sets and drawing actionable insights.
  • The core competencies. Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Highly attentive to detail with a commitment to accuracy. Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to explain complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Flexible and comfortable adapting to evolving processes and priorities. Able to design or improve processes with limited direction.
