Job description

Individually we are people, but together we are Aviva. Individually these are just words, but together they are our Values – Care, Commitment, Community, and Confidence.

Aviva Canada is part of a global insurance company, and we are on a mission to be the best insurer in Canada. The future of our business depends on data and those who know how to use it. Our end game is to develop industry-leading capabilities with customer-focused offerings based on our world-class pricing and data science.

We are looking for a business-minded actuary to handle the pricing for personal auto products. You are more than a pricing actuary; you understand the demands of an external partner, as well as the ins-and-outs of regulation. You provide excellent actuarial advice and influence decisions using analysis and data. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where your opinion and experience are valued.

This position will also be responsible for providing statistical expertise, researching new pricing methods, and ensuring a smooth implementation of rating plans and algorithm changes. Additionally, you will be expected to provide actuarial expertise related to product design, corporate planning, and underwriting/segmentation analysis.

While the role will not officially have direct reports, you will have accountability for the overall performance and development of actuarial analysts and foster a positive and dynamic work environment that values people and achieves outperforming results.
