Job summary

VW Credit Canada, Inc. in Pickering, ON is seeking an Actuarial Lead - Insurance on a maternity leave replacement. The role focuses on providing actuarial inputs for income recognition, updating loss curves, and supporting IFRS 17 changes for insurance products.

The position is hybrid with minimal travel and reports to Senior Director, Finance Insurance NAR. Ideal candidates hold ACAS with 5+ years in Insurance actuarial work, plus 3 years in Auto Insurance. A Master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• 7 years minimum
• At least 5 years working as an actuary in the Insurance industry and having an ACAS designation
• Desired: 3 years working in Auto Insurance Industry with knowledge of Auto Insurance products
• Master’s Degree in related field

Responsibilities

• Provide actuarial inputs for income recognition for actual and forecast models
• Provide regular updates on loss curves vs. priced and compare actual vs priced loss ratios
• Support IFRS 17 changes related to Insurance products
• Extract data from data warehouse for Insurance products and perform trend analyses
• Collaborate with CFO, VP Finance and Chief Risk Officer in establishing loss provisions
• Engage with auditors to ensure audit readiness and support
• Contribute to pricing and reserving processes within the broader actuarial function
