Join to apply for the Actuarial Health & Benefits Associate role at Mercer .

We are seeking a talented Actuarial Health & Benefits Associate to join our team at Mercer. This role will be based in Montreal or Quebec City. It is a hybrid position requiring at least three days a week in the office.

Responsibilities include :

  • Participating in delivering impactful solutions for organizations of various sizes and industries, directly affecting their employees.
  • Collaborating with client teams and health colleagues on a variety of projects.
  • Supporting clients in managing their employee benefit programs through analysis and communication.
  • Performing calculations related to the costs of employee benefit plans and insurance arrangements, including using Mercer’s tools for plan design and cost projections.
  • Developing project management and consulting skills, ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables, and assisting in client communications.
  • Enhancing understanding of Mercer’s health and benefits products, services, and tools through training and mentorship.
  • Providing data and financial analysis for various benefit programs.
  • Validating premiums and producing experience monitoring reports.
  • Analyzing financial statements and cost drivers, reviewing utilization data, and performing complex analyses for larger clients.
  • Reviewing and developing recommendations based on data analysis, and assisting with contract reviews and special accounts.

Minimum requirements :

  • Experience from internships or co-op positions.
  • Bilingual in French and English.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary licenses.

Preferred qualifications :

  • Post-secondary degree in business, math, statistics, finance, or related fields.
  • Experience or familiarity with group insurance benefits.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • LLQP or equivalent license based on province.
