Our team is looking for actuarial professionals for an Actuarial Consultant role on the Actuarial Financial Modeling (AFM) team. Reporting to the AFM Senior Manager, this position is part of the Finance Team at Allstate Canada Group (ACG) within the Corporate Actuarial department. The AFM team focuses on the economic capital model, Financial Condition Testing (FCT), and financial loss planning. With increasing climate risk regulation, the team will also monitor and ensure compliance with new regulations. Daily work involves collaboration with actuarial, risk, and finance teams, as well as external actuaries. The team members are eligible for Allstate’s Actuarial program, offering future rotation opportunities across various actuarial roles.

As an Actuarial Consultant, your strengths will include technical knowledge, coordination skills, and the ability to learn about emerging issues like climate risk. We seek a confident individual with strong analytical and communication skills, capable of prioritizing projects and managing deadlines. An ambitious person eager to influence organizational results would be ideal for this role.

Role Designation : Hybrid

Accountabilities :

• Ensure high quality and reliability standards for the Economic Capital Model
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert in cross-functional projects related to the Economic Capital Model and Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) report
• Serve as liaison between risk-related business units and the parent company's capital modeling team
• Support updates and maintenance of the economic capital model and FCT coordination
• Monitor financial loss trends and coordinate with pricing and claims departments
• Assist in implementing new processes for risk regulations such as climate risk
• Communicate complex analyses and provide recommendations
• Ensure adherence to CAS, CIA Standards, and regulations, and participate in team planning

Qualifications :

• Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science or relevant discipline
• Minimum 5 years of Property and Casualty experience, preferably in corporate actuarial; ACAS / FCAS preferred or equivalent CAS exams
• Strong knowledge of CIA Standards and regulatory requirements, and understanding of FCT
• Excellent communication skills and presentation ability
• Solid background in capital modeling and proficiency in Microsoft applications
• Ability to adapt and improve effectiveness using new ideas and techniques
• Experience with ResQ, Risk software like ReMetrica, and programming in R/Python/SQL is an asset
