Role Overview

We are seeking an aspiring actuary with experience in personal insurance products such as travel, credit card, home, auto, life, and health insurance. The role involves consulting with clients, translating complex analyses into clear messaging, and supporting insurance strategy development across various lines of business. The position offers a hybrid workstyle.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide actuarial consulting and analytics support to clients.
  2. Perform pricing, reserving analysis, financial forecasting, claims analysis, industry benchmarking, and ad hoc analyses.
  3. Assist senior staff with reports, presentations, and client communications.
  4. Support client strategy assessments and provide technical and strategic support.
  5. Collaborate with non-actuarial experts and support project management.
  6. Identify process improvements and mentor junior team members.
Qualifications
  • Over 5 years of actuarial experience, preferably in property & casualty consulting.
  • Associate or near-Associate with a recognized actuarial body; working towards Fellowship.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in actuarial techniques, data manipulation (e.g., R), and Microsoft Office.
Preferred Assets
  • French fluency.
  • Experience with Power Platform tools, reserving and pricing software, and prior consulting or affinity experience.
Additional Details

Position: Mid-Senior level, Full-time, in Toronto or Montreal, with a salary range of $150,000-$200,000.
