Job Title: Actuarial Analyst for JSCP / Valani Global

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Actuarial Analyst to join our Property & Casualty team at JSCP. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in analyzing data, developing models, and providing critical insights for various consulting projects. These include quarterly and annual reserving, peer reviews, financial condition testing reports, funding analysis, external audit team support, internal capital target reports, and other ad hoc projects. Depending on experience, this is an office-based role (5 days a week) with senior staff rotating days to provide in-person development support. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to our strategic goals and grow within a supportive and innovative environment.

Salary range: $CAD TBD based on experience and ability

Location: Office-based role in Toronto (North York) office.

Job Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret complex data sets to identify trends and patterns.
  • Develop and maintain actuarial models for pricing and reserving.
  • Collaborate with underwriters and other stakeholders to provide actuarial support.
  • Prepare reports and presentation material on findings and recommendations.
  • Assist in the development of new insurance products and pricing strategies.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, business administration, project management, or a related fieldora college diploma in a relevant discipline.
  • Passed at least one actuarial exam
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One or more years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry.
  • Familiarity with statistical modeling and data analysis techniques.
  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
