Job description

We are seeking our next Actuarial Analyst to join our commercial actuarial team! The role of the Actuarial Analyst is to support our Auto pricing initiatives and work collaboratively with all partners to drive profitable growth for Aviva's commercial insurance.

Working with a proven actuarial team, our ideal candidate will help identify profitability concerns for our various lines of business, assist on pricing concerns from business functions, develop our internal pricing tools to help deliver accurate pricing and speed to market of changes, implement pricing changes to ratings, and provide rationale and impact of proposed changes to both business functions and regulators for approval.

What you’ll do:
  1. Maintain and improve profitable growth within the Commercial Lines Auto Pricing database.
  2. Develop our pricing tools and capabilities to help better identify profitability concerns and improve our speed to market on proposed changes.
  3. Provide data exhibits and analyses related to the profitability of Commercial Auto products.
  4. Communicate actuarial concepts to management verbally and through reports.
  5. Provide actuarial pricing support to other Commercial Lines teams.
  6. Collaborate with other departments to launch pricing changes or other initiatives.
What you'll bring:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, or other related subjects.
  2. Minimum of 2 CAS exams.
  3. Prior actuarial experience preferred.
  4. Strong mathematical and statistical background.
  5. Proficient in programming, with experience in SAS, Access, VBA a plus.
  6. Ability to communicate ideas and decisions clearly and concisely.
  7. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  8. Strong organizational skills.
