The Actuarial Analyst is responsible for working with other members of the actuarial team to build, create, and help implement pricing models, reserving models, and other actuarial or predictive analytics. The Actuarial Analyst reports to the Actuarial Manager, and works in conjunction with any applicable senior actuarial analysts

What will you do?

Data Literacy

  • The Actuarial Analyst is responsible for understanding what the data means, and possesses the ability to “clean” it as required
  • The Actuarial Analyst is responsible for building initial models for relatively simple problems (i.e. auto comprehensive).The Actuarial Analyst will work with a mentor to learn and improve on their model.

Implementation Support

  • The Actuarial Analyst will be guided through activities such as excel rater creation or maintenance, renewal lists, impact studies, etc. as required.

Personal Development

  • The Actuarial Analyst will make serious attempts at progressing through the CAS exams. The Actuarial Analyst will also perform other, project-specific required research.

What will you need to succeed in this role?

  • Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics. Early progress towards the completion of Casualty Actuarial Society exams.
  • 1+ years’ Co-op experience at another P&C insurance companyor at a life insurance company
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Eager to learn and be part of the team.
