YMCA Vanderhoof Care and Learning Centre is seeking a compassionate team member to support a before/after school program for children aged 5–12. You will design activities, provide individualized support, and help maintain safe, inclusive spaces with strong staff ratios.
Responsibilities include supervising staff, engaging families, and ensuring adherence to health and safety guidelines while promoting belonging and positive self-esteem in every child.
Location: YMCA Vanderhoof Care and Learning Centre (186 Columbia St W, Vanderhoof, BC V0J 0A8)
Term: Temporary, Full-Time until August 28, then Permanent, Part-Time
Hours: 40 hours per week until August 28, then 20 hours per week
Shift: Schedule until August 28: Monday - Friday alternating shifts between 7:30am - 6:00pm
Schedule after August 28: Monday - Friday from 2:00pm - 6:00pm
Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary: $23.14 per hour

Join Our Team! We’re seeking a compassionate and collaborative individual to support our inclusive before and after school program for children ages 5–12. In this role, you’ll work alongside a dedicated team to create a welcoming environment where every child—regardless of their needs—can thrive.
You will design and actively participate in activities, provide individualized support as needed, help children navigate conflicts, and model positive behaviours. You’ll also contribute to care plans, support each child’s unique strengths, maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios, and ensure a safe, inclusive space where every child feels valued and supported.
