Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a Recreation Leader to guide a team in delivering resident-centered activities that enhance well-being and quality of life in our long-term care setting in Canada. You will lead programs, manage staff and volunteers, plan and evaluate activities, and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and Extendicare principles.

The role emphasizes collaboration with residents, families, and the care team to deliver meaningful experiences, while managing budgets and resources.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Recreation Therapy or Therapeutic Recreation.
• Minimum one year experience in health care setting.
• Minimum two years’ experience in program planning, implementation, documentation and evaluation in a senior’s care setting.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in Activity Pro, Point Click Care, RAI-MDS and care planning is an asset.
• Passion and focus on the person centered approach and working with seniors.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector Search (within 6 months).
