Job summary

The Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority is seeking a Recreation Coordinator for the Eriksdale Personal Care Home. You will work with the Regional Recreation Program Manager to plan, coordinate, facilitate and evaluate recreation activities for residents, emphasizing quality service and continuous improvement.

You will recruit, orient and schedule volunteers, ensuring programs meet individual and group needs while maintaining a positive, respectful care environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent required.
• Completion of the Recreation Facilitator for Older Adults Certificate or a recognized Recreation program or willingness to enroll and complete.

Position Summary: The Recreation Coordinator is a member of thehealth care team, working under the general direction of the RegionalRecreation Program Manager while demonstrating a commitment to serviceexcellence and continuous quality improvement. The Recreation Coordinator, in consultation with the Regional RecreationProgram Manager plans, coordinates, facilitates and evaluates recreationprograms to meet the needs of individuals and groups of Residents utilizing theassessment, planning, implementation and evaluation as a framework forperformance. The Recreation Coordinatoris responsible for the recruitment, orientation and scheduling of volunteers. The Recreation Coordinator is flexible andable to function effectively in a dynamic and ever-changing health careenvironment. The position functions in amanner consistent with and supports the mission, vision and values of theInterlake – Eastern Regional Health Authority.

• Grade12
• Completionof the Recreation Facilitator for Older Adults Certificate or a recognizedActivities/Recreation program required or willing to enroll and successfullycomplete within a reasonable time frame.
• Applicantswith certificate will be given priority.Non Certified applicants may be considered if there are no certified applicants.

• Minimum of two (2) years related experience required.
• Previousexperience working as a Recreation Coordinator /Recreation Facilitator is preferred.
• Self-directedand able to work with minimum of supervision.
• Completesand maintains a satisfactory pre-employment security check.
• Satisfactoryemployment record.
