Who Are We?
The Activate New Graduate Development Program is designed to kick-start your career at Scotiabank in your specific stream of Strategic Functions. Our Strategic Functions groups are the backbone of the Bank, with focus areas including Marketing, Human Resources, Compliance, Global Treasury, Risk Management, Audit, Finance, and our CPA Pre-Approved program. Each rotation in the Activate program will provide you with experiences that build a foundation for you to become a future leader, accelerating your career journey from day one. You’ll also have access to skill-building workshops and challenging work-integrated learning opportunities that will rapidly accelerate your development!
Is this program right for you?
You’ll join our Activate Development program as a full-time permanent employee and will spend 18-30 months rotating to pre-determined areas that will challenge you and provide you with opportunities to learn and grow into a Strategic Functions professional. Our goal at the end of the program is to land you into a permanent role in your area of focus – after 4-6 rotations, you’ll be set up to hit the ground running! These rotations are key to your development and aim to ensure you receive a wide breadth of experience in a short period of time. It also provides you with the opportunity to discover your passions and learn more about your areas of interest; you’ll gain a well-rounded view of the entire organization while gaining practical experience focused on high-impact projects within your business line.

What is Group Treasury?
Group Treasury is a highly specialized area of the Bank that requires quick learners with a strong attention to detail who can work independently and as part of a team. In Group Treasury, we’re looking for individuals with a strong sense of personal integrity and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The Group Treasury Markets team manages the Bank’s structural exposures such as Interest rate, Liquidity, FX, and Capital. Within Group Treasury, the Markets team is responsible for managing the Bank’s structural interest rate risk profile and the Liquidity Portfolio. We’re seeking individuals who are passionate about understanding this complex space and keen to learn and contribute as they build the foundation for a career in Group Treasury. Qualifications/ Requirements:
This program is for students who have just graduated from a college diploma, undergraduate degree, or graduate degree who are looking to secure that job now to begin upon graduation. Individuals who are well-suited for this program are particularly interested in a specific stream of Strategic Functions and bring a strong curiosity and solutions-focused mindset to their work. They manage internal and external relationships exceptionally well and are focused on doing the right thing. They challenge themselves and the team members around them to find the best solutions possible. They bring a solutions-focused attitude, recognize opportunities to learn and contribute to team outcomes, and show ownership over their work and deliverables.
