The Account Director, Global Partnershipsis responsible for the strategic development and execution of preferred partner engagement and revenue growth at both global and regional levels. This role ensures Virtuoso's global and regional business plans align with partnership strategies, maximizing Virtuoso's performance across designated markets.
This position reports to the VP, Global Partnerships and operates within Virtuoso's matrix organizational structure, providing critical support for:
- Leaders of the Destination & Experiences, and Hotels & Resorts divisions within the assigned region.
- SVP, Global Partnerships
The Account Director will oversee a select portfolio of key global and regional preferred partners, focusing on driving engagement, increasing revenue, and strengthening relationships across Virtuoso's ecosystem. The Global Account Director will manage a small group of sellers.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Strategic Account Leadership
- Develop a global and regional partner strategy focused on driving revenue growth and engagement.
- Serve as the primary liaison for Virtuoso's preferred global and regional partners across Destination & Experiences, and Hotels & Resorts within the region.
- Ensure alignment of regional and global objectives for each partner, customizing engagement strategies accordingly.
- Lead strategic business planning sessions with partners to establish performance goals and long-term objectives.
Revenue Growth & Business Planning
- Achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including revenue goals for marketing sales, event attendance, and partner engagement.
- Oversee and manage annual global and regional partner investments to ensure alignment with Virtuoso's revenue objectives.
- Identify new strategic partnership opportunities within the designated markets to enhance Virtuoso's global and regional growth.
- Conduct competitor analysis and market assessments to refine sales and engagement strategies.
Regional & Cross-Division Support
- Collaborate with regional GMs, division leaders (Destination & Experiences, and Hotels & Resorts) and Vertical Account Managers to develop and execute global and regional partner strategies.
- Provide regional insights and intelligence to enhance partner engagement and program effectiveness.
- Lead contract negotiations and global and regional marketing plans, ensuring robust participation in Virtuoso initiatives.
Partner Engagement & Program Execution
- Maintain comprehensive Partner Briefs in Virtuoso's CRM system, ensuring visibility of partner objectives and strategic initiatives.
- Conduct regular partner performance evaluations to identify areas for improvement and increased collaboration.
- Represent Virtuoso at industry trade shows, conferences, and market events to maintain and grow partner relationships.
- Develop and lead monthly global and regional partner update meetings.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership
- Act as a trusted advisor to partners, advocating for the integration of Virtuoso's products and services.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize partner success and implement best practices.
- Lead and mentor Sales Account Managers, guiding sales targets and strategic objectives.
Educational and Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Travel & Tourism, Marketing, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in luxury travel sales, strategic account management, or global partnerships
- Strong commercial acumen, including negotiation and revenue strategy expertise
- Proficiency in CRM platforms for tracking partner engagement
- Proven leadership experience, managing people or projects at a senior level
- Deep understanding of regional and global market trends in the luxury travel industry
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess data and drive strategic decision-making
- Project management experience and ability to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Forward-thinking, innovative, creative, and proactive in strategy execution
- Skilled at fostering cross-functional collaborative relationships to achieve win-win outcomes
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex strategies effectively
- Results-oriented and focused on delivering revenue performance and strategic growth
- Self-motivated and highly driven with a passion for luxury travel and strategic partnerships
Travel Requirements:
- 20%+ of time for this role will be spent traveling, visiting partners, and attending events, conferences, and team meetings.
- Travel will be primarily international.

- External: Virtuoso's global and regional preferred partners across the luxury travel ecosystem.
- Internal: Daily contact with Virtuoso staff.
