Job summary

Parkland County is hiring an Accredited Assessor – Non-Residential to manage valuation models and inspections for a diverse non-residential portfolio. The role emphasizes advanced appraisal methods, market analysis, and compliance with provincial legislation to support property taxation equity.

The ideal candidate will hold an AMAA designation (or similar), have 5+ years of accredited assessment experience (preferably rural), and be skilled in communication, negotiation, and using GIS and

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma in real estate appraisal or urban land economics (or equivalent).
• AMAA designation is required or strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accredited assessment experience, rural/non-residential focus.
• Strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
• Technical knowledge of construction methods and evaluation of structures, machinery and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain non-residential valuation models for Parkland County.
• Conduct assessments and inspections across a diverse non-residential portfolio.
• Support assessment reviews and appeal processes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate with property owners, industry partners and internal departments.
