JLL is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our esteemed Property Accounting team. We will rely on you to manage the accounts receivables process from managing and processing payments to analyzing accounts receivable trends and performance reports. This is a fantastic opportunity for a new graduate or early career professional passionate about real estate and ready for a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with two days in the downtown office and the remaining days remote.

Responsibilities
  • Review daily bank statement and record/post cheques & EFT receipts to correct tenant ledgers and correct lease charges
  • Monitor electronic payment collection process for NSF payments and follow-up with property management teams as applicable
  • Responsible for the input and maintenance of tenant bank information in the accounting system for electronic payment collections
  • Generate and monitor pre-authorized payment from tenants.
  • Prepare bank deposits as required and correspondence with banks as required
  • Reviewing lease agreements for billing security deposit, recording security deposit payment, and applying security deposit payment to rental charges appropriately to tenant ledger
  • Communicate with Lease Administration regarding new / adjusted leases setup in system to ensure lease revenue is recorded in an accurate and timely manner
  • Liaise with Treasury department customer service re: bank charges, bank fees as needed
  • Monitor daily bank statements as required to ensure banking transactions are timely and accurately included in the accounting system and to ensure there are no bank errors
  • Performing tenant account reconciliations to assist property management in preparation of Statement of Account
  • Supporting property accountants in monthly rent posting, preparing journal entries (for deposit interest, write-offs etc.
  • Undertake other ad hoc tasks as required
Requirements
  • A University Degree or College Diploma with major in Accounting is preferred
  • 2+ years of related work experience
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Yardi would be an asset
  • Working knowledge of accounting concepts including accounts receivable, general accounting, bank reconciliations, and budgets
  • Interest and passion for commercial real estate accounting.
  • Excellent communication including strong written and verbal communication skills.
