We are seeking an energetic, results-oriented recent graduate to join our team as an Accounts Receivable Specialist. This is a unique opportunity to gain both CPG and growth experience at a rapidly expanding company.

The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, works well in a team, and is eager to learn all aspects of the business. Previous experience in business or accounting is not required! We value curiosity, a love for numbers, and a passion for math and problem-solving.

This role involves managing the accounts receivable functions within our Finance team.

Key Performance Outcomes:

  • Day sales outstanding
  • Trade spend percentage
  • Timeliness of financial reporting
  • Accuracy of financial reports

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Analysis and Reporting: Prepare AR aging reports, collection forecasts, and bad debt summaries. Analyze customer payment behaviors and identify trends. Assist with month-end close activities, reconcile AR balances, and resolve open items.
  2. Dispute and Deduction Management: Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, including short payments, pricing disputes, and returns. Collaborate with sales, customer service, logistics, and trade teams. Document dispute resolutions and recover invalid deductions.
  3. Customer Account Maintenance: Keep customer data accurate and current. Monitor credit limits and support credit risk assessments.
  4. Data Management and Integrity: Ensure financial data accuracy. Maintain and update financial models.
  5. Compliance and Internal Controls: Support compliance with financial regulations. Assist in audits by providing documentation.
  6. Technology and Automation: Identify opportunities to automate processes. Manage EDI operations, handle exceptions, and communicate with partners.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Keep technical knowledge current through workshops and publications.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Strong analytical skills; proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and proactive issue resolution.
  • Teamwork and cross-functional collaboration experience.
  • Familiarity with financial software and data visualization tools.
