Job description

Transdev Canada is hiring an Accounts Receivable for our Calgary location.

As an Accounts Receivable, you will play a vital role in managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the company’s financial stability. This is a full-time, remote position.

Your Role
Account Clean-Up & Reconciliation:
  • Analyze customer accounts for discrepancies and aged items; identify and resolve issues causing unapplied cash or open credits.
  • Investigate and resolve legacy balances, unapplied payments, and past-due invoices.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (sales, customer service, billing) to correct and clear outstanding issues.
Cash Application
  • Apply customer payments (cheques, ACH, wires, credit cards) to appropriate invoices in the ERP system.
  • Research and resolve unapplied and misapplied cash, short pays, and overpayments.
  • Reconcile daily bank deposits to customer payments.
Customer Communication & Support
  • Communicate with customers and depot staff to resolve payment discrepancies and request remittance details.
  • Provide account statements and reconcile accounts as needed.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding account status and payment history.
Reporting & Process Improvement
  • Assist in generating aging reports and dashboards to track clean-up progress.
  • Recommend and help implement process improvements to streamline cash application and reconciliation activities.
  • Support month-end close by ensuring timely and accurate AR entries.

Your Profile
  • Completion of, or working towards a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred).
  • 1-2 years in Accounts Receivable or similar accounting role, with hands-on experience in cash application, account cleanup, and reconciliation.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred but not required) and moderate proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good knowledge of relevant labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle conflicts at all levels.
Your Location
  • This is a remote temporary position.
  • Average schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
  • In-person training sessions in Calgary are required.
