Title: Accounts/Payroll Assistant
Type: Permanent
Hours: Full or Part Time (Monday – Friday)
Location: Elgin
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000
Additional: 35 days holiday (inclusive of public holidays); funded training for studies if required; flexible and remote working.

Details

Our client is looking to appoint an Accounts/Payroll Assistant to be based in Elgin. Full or part time hours are available along with the flexibility of hybrid working if required. This is a varied and interesting role, supporting a range of clients and duties include:

  • Assisting with the preparation of client accounts for sole traders, partnerships and small companies.
  • Payroll preparation for clients including all calculations and submissions.
  • Pensions administration and correspondence.
  • Dealing with SSP, SMP SPP etc.
  • Updating start and leaver records and all relevant documents such as P45/P60.
  • Working to tight deadlines for weekly and monthly payroll processing.
  • Carrying out reconciliations.
  • Assisting with VAT returns.
  • Processing and reconciling invoices.
  • Bank reconciliations.
  • Updating and maintaining accurate client records.
  • Extensive use of IT systems.
Person specification
  • Previous experience in a similar Payroll/Accounts Assistant role.
  • Strong IT skills including financial/payroll software and MS Office.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with clients in a professional manner.
