Job Skills / Requirements

We are looking for a driven individual to join our finance team and be a key member of our Accounts Payable department. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing multiple tasks in a busy work environment, proficiency in working with ERP software, and a willingness to learn. We are looking for someone with a positive can-do attitude who takes pride in their work and is looking to grow their career with one of Canada’s best managed companies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review invoices for the proper authorization.
  • Key in accounts payable invoices each month, matching of all source documents, and ensuring appropriate GL distribution.
  • Mid-volume expense reimbursements and credit card statements.
  • Manage and maintain existing and new vendor setups.
  • Input payment transactions and run cheques.
  • Correspondence with branches.
  • Communicate with vendors on invoices, receiving, and payments of outstanding accounts.
  • Overseeing Accounts Payable departmental activities to ensure items are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Hiring, training, and motivating the Accounts Payable team.
  • Support and lead the Accounts Payable team and provide coaching and mentoring.
  • Completion of other accounting duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Experience in a fast-paced and high-volume collections environment
  • Ability to problem solve, multitask, work effectively under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • Proficient with Excel, Wor,d and MS Outlook
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Eager to learn and ability to apply newly acquired skills for immediate results
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment

Salary: $50,000 - $55,000 / per annum
