Reports To: Financial Initiatives Manager

The Emil Anderson Group, through its subsidiary companies, performs civil construction, land development, new home construction, commercial construction, and road maintenance throughout British Columbia.

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor for the Head Office in Kelowna, BC. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday with some flexibility in start and end times.

Job Overview

The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable function, ensuring accurate and timely payment of invoices, managing the Accounts Payable team, and ensuring compliance with accounting and internal control policies.

Responsibilities

  • Operate in accordance to, and uphold Emil Anderson Group (EAG) Core Values in all aspects of your work.
  • Uphold an unwavering commitment to developing a zero-injury culture, and meeting the Paving the Way to Zero goals.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable team, including:
    • Oversee AP functions, including meetings and day-to-day issues.
    • Be relied upon as the main point of contact for resolving complex AP issues and ensuring compliance with vendor payment terms.
    • Provide training, coaching, and guidance to ensure all team members perform their roles accurately and efficiently.
    • Produce monthly KPIs and reporting.
  • Completion of full cycle accounts payable, including:
    • Oversee the processing of invoices and related payment requests from vendors.
    • Research and resolve discrepancies and vendor issues related to payments.
    • Maintain vendor relationships.
    • Vacation coverage.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounts payable.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory role.
