Job description

Regular Full Time (35 hours weekly) | Grid 14 ($31.78 - $33.18 / hour) | Reporting to : Controller | Anticipated Start : April 1, 2025

Head Office requires a full-time experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to provide support to the finance team. The successful applicant will have extensive experience working in a high-volume accounting environment using Sage Intacct accounting software, have excellent communication skills, and be proficient in MS Office software, particularly Excel. They must have the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process weekly Vendor payments using digital tools provided
  • Process staff petty cash / mileage reimbursements, monthly rental payments, participant subsidies, and all other payments and invoices as required
  • Reconcile Vendor Statements and follow up on discrepancies
  • Ensure all transactions comply with Agency finance policy and internal control procedures
  • Maintain digital documents for all Paid Vendor files
  • Reconcile and submit GST rebate claims
  • Provide backfill and support to other finance positions
  • Provide support and assistance to the Controller and Director of Finance as required

Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience in a related high-volume accounts payable environment and studying for a professional accounting designation such as CPA or work / education equivalent
  • Preference will be given to those with Sage Intacct experience as well as having worked in a nonprofit agency
  • Strong comprehension of all Microsoft Office programs and database systems including Excel, Office365, and various web-based applications
  • Excellent accounting knowledge
