Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Senior Accountant / Controller, the duties and responsibilities of the AR / AP specialist include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Prepare and review invoices and other accounting documents;
- Maintain general accounting files and spreadsheets;
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts and document business transactions;
- Ensure timely payment of liabilities and other financial obligations;
- Post and review invoice information in QuickBooks;
- Route invoices for correct approvals to pay;
- Provide timely support in resolving issues with supplier invoicing and payments;
- Prepare and post journal entries as required;
- Reconcile supplier statements;
- Handle various bank transactions and account reconciliations;
- Report issues and discrepancies when appropriate.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience;
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of related accounting experience;
- Knowledge of accounting principles, calculations, and terminology;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook);
- Proficient in QuickBooks or similar online accounting software;
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills;
- Self-directed and motivated;
- Strong financial acumen;
- High attention to detail and planning skills;
- Experience in a travel company is a plus.
