We are currently searching for an experienced hands-on Accounts Payable Manager for our growing Finance Team. Reporting to the Controller, the successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering outcomes that drive business success. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Collaborate with Finance and Operations teams to align on budgets, forecasts, and cost management
  • Ensure compliance with external reporting requirements and corporate policies
  • Continuously improve AP systems and processes to enhance accuracy and workflow efficiency with a focus on automation initiatives
  • Act as key point of contact for vendors and internal stakeholders, ensuring responsive and professional service
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and streamline systems for efficiency
  • Lead the Accounts Payable function to ensure timely, accurate payments and strong vendor relationships
  • Develop, motivate and hold teams accountable for high performance
  • Maintain accurate and complete financial, vendor, and payment records
  • Establish / enforce AP policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and efficiency
  • Oversee daily AP operations, including cheque disbursements and wire transfers (weekly and monthly)
  • Partner cross-functionally to re-engineer processes and support strategic initiatives as needed
  • Analyze and report key AP performance metrics and implement improvements
  • Hire, train, coach, and develop AP staff to build a high-performing, accountable team
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes related to payables
  • Participate in finance meetings, providing AP-related insights and recommendations
  • Support audits and ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and accessible
  • Foster a positive, inclusive team culture aligned with organizational values and goals
  • Special projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Finance, or related field, CPA designation
  • 5+ years of AP management leading a team in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and inventory valuation
  • Ability to make informed decisions using data, financial insight, and sound judgement
  • Process-focused, detail oriented, maintaining accuracy / consistency in financial reporting
  • Knowledge of pricing structures, financial reconciliations, and rebates
  • Excellent working knowledge of accounting principles and customer adjustments
  • Adaptable and solution-oriented in a fast-paced evolving environment
  • Proven success in process improvement and automation
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (J.D. Edwards or similar)
  • Advanced Excel skills and solid knowledge of Microsoft Office
