Job description
Overview

CPA Ontario is currently in search of an Accounts Payable Coordinator who will be responsible for supporting the Finance team by processing payment requests and coordinating Accounts Payable activities. The Accounts Payable Coordinator also plays a part in safeguarding the organization’s financial health.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Processing direct deposits (EFTs), wire transfers and online payments accurately and promptly.
  • Entering, coding, and validating employee expense reports, invoices, cheque requisitions, and corporate credit card statements.
  • Monitoring the backlog of outstanding invoices and payment requests ensuring timely payment processing.
  • Following up on invoice discrepancies and responding to internal and external inquiries related to accounts payable matters.
  • Verifying documentation and approvals while ensuring adherence to company policies and practices and regular use of financial controls to reduce errors and ensure compliance.
  • Facilitating ad hoc requests and supporting other accounting functions as needed.
Who You Are
  • A post-secondary graduate with a degree or diploma in Business Administration or Accounting with a minimum of 3 years progressive work experience in Accounts Payable.
  • Experienced with accounting principles and procedures and proficient with accounting systems and database applications. Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamic Great Plains is an asset.
  • Digitally fluent in Microsoft Office products including Word, SharePoint and Teams and advanced level knowledge of Excel including formulas, functions, charts / graphs, pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
  • Very analytical with a high level of attention to accuracy and detail with a proven ability to problem-solve.
  • A skilled professional with a high degree of sensitivity and professionalism with respect to the management of confidential information.
  • A strong communicator (verbally and written) with excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • A well-rounded administrator with excellent organization and multi-tasking skills, able to work well under pressure, in a fast-paced, time-sensitive, deadline-oriented environment with competing deadlines.
