As an Accounts Payable Associate reporting to the Accounts Payable Supervisor, you will support the Finance team by ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments. You’ll work closely with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies, maintain accurate records, and uphold financial controls. Your work will contribute to the seamless functioning of our Finance operations and help support Roots’ commitment to operational excellence.

Key ResponsibilitiesHow You’ll Make an Impact

  • Process high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper approvals and coding in accordance with company policies.
  • Monitor and reconcile vendor statements regularly to maintain up-to-date and accurate accounts.
  • Communicate professionally and promptly with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies, payment inquiries, and account issues.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper invoice approvals and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and review payment runs while ensuring compliance with internal controls and payment terms.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations related to accounts payable.
  • Maintain and organize vendor files and ensure accurate record-keeping for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Support the Finance team in identifying process improvements and implementing best practices within the accounts payable function.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with other finance and administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications & ExperienceThe Skills You Bring

  • 1-2 years’ experience in Accounts Payable or in Finance Department
  • Diploma/BA Degree in Accounting/Business
  • Effective computer skills including the ability to operate accounting software, Microsoft Excel, Word, and email at a proficient level.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to create an environment of cooperation to assist in problem solving within finance department.
  • Ability to work cohesively in a team environment and independently.
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written).
  • High demonstrated organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
