Accounts Payable Administrator

Position Summary: The ideal candidate enjoys problem-solving, has excellent communication skills, functions in a high-paced environment while keeping a focus on details and accuracy and is looking to learn and develop in their career. Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Payable Administrator will be responsible for full-cycle accounts payable functions.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Accounts Payable functions which include but are not limited to entering payables into the system, matching, coding, sorting, logging, scanning, and filing invoices, cheques, and other documents.
  • Receive, review, and process vendor invoices and employee expense reports for compliance with financial policies, procedures, and contractual requirements.
  • Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies.
  • Correspond with vendors, respond to inquiries, and maintain vendor files.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records and reporting payable activities to management.
  • Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Provide internal and external audit assistance as required.
  • Become cross-trained on other administrative duties.
  • Perform other clerical duties as required.

Qualifications

  • 2 years Accounts Payable experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Full Cycle Accounting experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and experience working with Microsoft environment (Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and organizational abilities.
  • Superior time-management skills to meet deadlines handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Previous experience with accounting systems software.
