The Role

We’re currently looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Corporate Finance team in Toronto. This is a standalone AP role in Canada, and you will be the primary point of contact for local payables, reporting directly to the AP/AR Team Leader based at our Amsterdam head office.

You’ll work closely with international colleagues across Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), and Credit Control, and play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial operations for our Canadian entity while supporting global processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process supplier invoices and employee expenses in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Ensure timely payments and manage relationships with international vendors.

  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

  • Maintain and update vendor master data.

  • Liaise with global finance colleagues, especially in Amsterdam.

  • Provide local support for finance-related queries and assist with documentation for audits.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to support global finance team efficiency.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in an Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable role, preference experience in an international environment (European companies).

  • Familiarity with diverse payment platforms.

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.

  • Currently residing in Canada (required).

  • Strong verbal and written communication in English.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Familiarity with European accounting systems .
