Accounts Payable Accountant (Temp-to-Perm)

Location: Vancouver, BC

Type: Temporary (3 months to start) with strong potential to become permanent

Salary: $60K

A non-profit organization in the heart of Vancouver is seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to join their Finance team on a temporary basis, with strong potential for the role to become permanent. If you’re detail-oriented, organized, and looking to contribute to meaningful work that supports your local community, this could be the perfect opportunity.

What You’ll Do:

1. Handle full-cycle accounts payable for multiple entities using a robust ERP system
2. Process vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and ensure accurate coding
3. Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and manage payment inquiries
4. Reconcile credit card purchases and manage month-end A/P procedures
5. Coordinate petty cash and support procurement and purchase order processes
6. Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
7. Assist in preparing internal reports and responding to audit and tax requests

What We’re Looking For:

1. 3+ years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably in A/P
2. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
3. Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial controls
4. Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite is a plus)
5. Post-secondary education in accounting or finance; CPA designation or pursuit is an asset
6. Great communication skills and a collaborative, positive attitude
