Job summary

BESTSELLER is seeking an Accounting Technician in Montreal to support daily accounting operations, ensure accurate transactions, timely payments, and well-maintained records. This role offers a balanced, hybrid schedule and growth opportunities within a global fashion finance team.

You will process invoices, perform ledger entries, reconcile accounts, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to keep financial data precise and audit-ready.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of accounting experience, including accounts payable.
• AEC/DEC/DEP in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
• Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivots).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.

Responsibilities

• Process a high volume of invoices, match invoices to purchase orders, verify details, schedule payments and obtain approvals.
• Prepare general ledger entries and record account transactions.
• Reconcile account statements to ensure accuracy.
• Investigate and resolve account discrepancies with supporting documentation.
• Review and process employee expense reports following internal approvals.
• Communicate with external suppliers and internal departments on inquiries.
• Maintain accounting documentation to ensure audit-readiness.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Accounting Technician, you'll play an important role in supporting our daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial transactions, timely payments, and well-maintained financial records.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to

• Process a high volume of invoices, match invoices to purchase orders, verify transaction details, schedule payments, and obtain the necessary approvals.
• Prepare general ledger entries, record account transactions, and perform accounting analyses.
• Reconcile account statements and transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Investigate and resolve account discrepancies by reviewing documentation and coordinating stop payments, payment corrections, or adjustments.
• Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal approval procedures.
• Communicate with external suppliers and internal departments to resolve accounting and payment-related inquiries.
• Organize and maintain accounting documentation, ensuring records are accurate, accessible, and audit-ready.

YOUR PROFILE

We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and proactive individual who can manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy. You enjoy collaborating with others, solving problems, and contributing to efficient financial operations.

We hire for mindset and train for skills, but it would be great if you bring the following to the table

• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience, including accounts payable experience (required).
• AEC, DEC, or DEP in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent qualification.
• Intermediate Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
