Job summary

A full-service digital accounting firm is seeking an Entry Level Accounting Technician to prepare compilations and tax returns. Responsibilities include managing client relationships and utilizing accounting software such as CaseWare and QuickBooks. Ideal candidates will have a diploma in accounting and 2+ years of public practice experience. This position is based in Ontario, with a salary range of CA$55,000–CA$110,000 based on experience.

• Strong commitment to quality work expected.
• Designated CPA or working towards one preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare compilations, corporate tax returns (T2), personal tax returns (T1), GST / HST returns using TaxPrep iFirm.
• Work closely with Partners, Managers, and staff on compilations, tax, and bookkeeping engagements.
• Apply technical understanding of accounting, taxation, and compilation standards.
• Manage multiple client relationships, understanding their unique business needs.
• Perform full cycle accounting functions for clients.
• Utilize Caseware, TaxPrep iFirm, QuickBooks Online & Desktop, and Excel effectively.

Qualifications

• Diploma / degree in Accounting.
• 2+ years' public practice experience in a midsize firm with a focus on compilations & tax.
• Proficient with CaseWare, TaxPrep iFirm, and advanced Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Effective communicator and proactive team player.
• Designated CPA or working towards one is preferred.
