Job description

Role Description

As an Accounting Technician, you will operate in a fast-paced environment with ties to both GRS Administration and Client Cash Management. You will be responsible for supporting business decisions related to accounting and investment interfaces, ensuring effective financial controls are in place.

Accountabilities:
  1. Cash and asset reconciliations and processes for directly held stock clients, including cash settlement and banking for stock trades on NYSE and TSX.
  2. Daily processing of stock trade requests (starting at 2pm EST).
  3. Reconciliation and clearing of general ledger accounts, including suspense accounts, utilizing advanced Excel and Access techniques.
  4. Preparation and processing of journal vouchers and cheques.
  5. Investigation and resolution of accounting issues, including data analysis.
  6. Supporting administration departments on accounting matters.
  7. Additional duties include daily cash settlement, quarterly suspense reports, and system support investigations.
  8. Handling inquiries from various audiences.
  9. Providing backup support to team members.
Required Competencies and Behaviours:
  • Customer service focus with a can-do attitude.
  • Accounting certification or related experience is a plus.
  • Expertise in Excel.
  • Experience with accounting processes and reconciliations.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Self-motivated with a team-oriented approach and the ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to quality work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation and Additional Information

The base salary ranges from $44,600 to $60,300 annually, excluding variable components like bonuses or commissions. Further details about our total rewards will be discussed if you proceed in the recruitment process.
