Duties and Responsibilities:

The key job functions are:

• Preparing and analyzing financial statements and other management reporting
• Reconciling accounts and posting journal entries
• Calculating fixed assets and depreciation
• Calculating and preparing cheques for payroll
• Assisting in preparing corporate and personal income tax returns; T1’s, T4s, T5s, GST and other compliance returns
• Making updates using the client’s accounting software, including posting to general ledgers, reconciling accounts, and reviewing reports
• Collaborating with peers and management on file planning and completion, ensuring that time requirements are met
• Providing personal, attentive service to clients, encouraging productive working relationships

Education:

• Post secondary in related field is considered an asset
• Ideally have or are working towards CPA designation

Qualifications:

• Criminal record check is required

Experience:

• 2-5 years of relevant accounting experience is required
• 2+ years of working in public practice is required
• Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Quickbooks Online are required

Base Salary:$55,000 – 70,000 per year

Work Hours:

• 40 hours per week
• Monday to Friday
• 8:30am to 5:30pm (flexible)
• Overtime to be expected during tax season*

Remote Work:

• This position is not remote and required to be on-site.

• This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
