Make an impact to our client focused teams as an Accounting Support Specialist. This diverse team of specialists work as trusted advisors to support and utilize MNP’s accounting technologies that enable primarily French speaking team members to work efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to internal users on various applications for working papers, bookkeeping (desktop and cloud products), tax preparation, and in house custom templates for financial statements
  • Assess requests and determine root cause of issues
  • Understand functionality from a user perspective of accounting products used for preparation of files and client deliverables
  • Develop an understanding of all components of MNP’s CaseWare templates
  • Identify and trouble shoot application problems leveraging your accounting and technology knowledge and communicate those to the development team
  • Escalate enquires in a timely manner to the development team for fixes, or to internal subject matter experts for issues requiring clarification
  • Contact third party vendors when appropriate to request more assistance or report issues with functionality
  • Document resolutions and workarounds in the knowledge base
  • Build trust with internal users by regularly demonstrating a high level of expertise and professionalism
  • Develop a thorough understanding of MNP’s services, businesses, and industry
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes


Skills And Experience

  • Post secondary education in accounting or at least 2 years of experience in a full cycle accounting role
  • Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, AgExpert, CaseWare or CaseView
  • Experience working in public accounting is considered an asset
  • A passion for technology and desire to provide superior customer service
