Capital Power in Edmonton, AB, invites applications for an Accounting Specialist (CPA Student) to join the Finance Development Program. You will rotate through multiple areas within Finance, developing skills toward the CPA designation.

The program provides on-the-job training, CPA study support, a competitive remuneration package, and a hybrid work arrangement with office days Tuesday to Thursday and work-from-home on Monday and Friday.

You will be part of Capital Power’s Financial Development & Accreditation Program (FDAP). This innovative CPA pre-approved development program provides on-the-job training that will prepare you for challenging assignments within the organization and an exciting career with Capital Power.During the program, you will rotate through a minimum of three different areas within the Finance department, spending approximately a year in each position. This program will provide you with a broad range of experience where you will be developing a variety of skills. This could include rotations in financial planning and analysis, corporate tax, operational accounting/reporting, external financial reporting, or internal audit.This program offers you not only the technical skills required but also opportunities for you to develop communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
