Job summary

MindBridge is seeking an Accounting Specialist for a 12-month temporary assignment in Ottawa, Ontario. The role involves managing day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring a reliable internal control system, and preparing financial statements.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, a CPA is highly desirable, and at least 5 years of accounting experience. Competitive compensation and flexible work options are offered.

• 5+ years’ progressive accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting functions and ensure internal controls.
• Manage invoicing for revenue contracts and customer collections.
• Complete quarterly financial statements and reporting packages.
• Reconcile allocated balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Record inter-company transactions and reconcile balances.
• Prepare applications for government assistance programs and grants.
• Manage bank accounts and review banking transactions.
• Oversee company tax compliance including GST/HST and corporate taxes.
• Assist in annual budget preparation and variance analysis.

Skills

About the Role

Reporting to the Global Controller, the Accounting Specialist (12-month temporary assignment) will oversee day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring a reliable system of internal controls across processes such as month‑end close, order‑to‑cash, and taxation.

What You Will Do

• Revenue accounting: report and analyze recurring revenue with a focus on reviewing customer contracts, deferred revenue management, and SaaS Metric reporting.
• Accounts Receivable: Manage invoicing for revenue contracts, customer requests and collections.
• Financial reporting: completion of quarterly financial statements (including consolidation) and reporting package, year‑end, and audit with the support of the Corporate Accountant.
• Reconciliations: Reconcile allocated balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Intercompany: Record inter-company transactions and reconcile balances.
• Financing: prepare applications for government assistance programs and grants.
• Treasury Management: manage bank accounts, and review banking transactions.
• Tax: oversee company tax compliance including filing of GST/HST and corporate taxes.
• Forecasting: assist in annual budget preparation, variance analysis, and internal management reporting.

What You Bring

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance will be expected for this role.
• A CPA (or in process of completion) is highly desirable.
• 5+ years’ progressive accounting experience.
• Adaptable and can shift gears with ease working around competing priorities.
• Possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of ERP Systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred).

Requirements Contingent on Employment

• Fulfill requirements necessary to obtain and clear a full background check.

Pay Range

The expected base salary range for this position is $83,000 to $95,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills, experience and competencies, and unique qualifications.
