Overview

Director of People & Culture at Pitblado Law. We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager – Financial Planning & Analysis to join our team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will act as a leader in our full-cycle accounting team, overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations and driving financial processes and results. The Accounting Manager, FP&A will shape the Firm’s financial strategy and partner with practice group leaders and operational departments to deliver data-driven insights for decision-making and performance improvement.

Base pay range CA$80,000.00 / yr - CA$85,000.00 / yr

Responsibilities
  • In coordination with the Director of Finance and Accounting Manager, Financial Accounting, participate in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, KPI tracking, profitability analysis, and support for strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with practice group leaders and operational departments to deliver data-driven insights and support business performance.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts receivable, work in progress (WIP), and payroll; supervise staff and ensure compliance with firm policies.
  • Assist in the management of full-cycle accounting processes, with focus on period-end close, posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, coordinating government remittances, maintaining audit-ready working papers, and supporting external audits.
  • Assign tasks, set performance goals, provide mentorship, and support professional growth within the accounting team.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness and drive transformational change.
  • Provide training to ensure applicable compliance requirements are met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance.
Qualifications and Skills Required
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CGA, CA, CMA) designation is required.
  • Minimum four years of experience in an accounting position with full-cycle accounting experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheet programs.
  • Demonstrated leadership with strategic thinking, coaching, and leadership skills.
  • Experience in a professional services environment is an asset.
  • Experience with practice management and / or enterprise resource planning systems is preferred.
